New York Rangers President and General Manager Glen Sather annouced today that left wing Martin Rucinsky has suffered a sprain of the medial collateral ligament (MCL)in his left knee. The Rangers forward is expected to be sidelined two to four weeks with the injury. He will begin his rehabilitation program immediately.

Rucinsky, who scored the game-winning tally in last night's 5-2 Rangers win in Montreal, sustained the injury in the third period when he was hit by Montreal defenseman Craig Rivet.

The Rangers, 6-3-3, will host the Canadiens tomorrow night at Madison Square Garden, beginning at 7:00 PM. New York will conduct its pre-game skate at the Madison Square Garden Training Center at 10:30 AM.
