Fans who catch Rangers forward Ruslan Fedotenko
coming out of The Garden -- or any other arena -- after a Blueshirts game know that he is happy to stop and sign his autograph for anyone and everyone who approaches him.
Entering the building is another story, however. Like many professional athletes, Fedotenko wants to keep his focus on the work ahead of him in trying to win that night's game. He therefore needs to limit pregame distractions, including autograph requests.
Turning down the fans for any reason is never easy, and Fedotenko says it pains him to have to decline the pregame autograph requests, particularly when youngsters are offering up the pen and paper.

Fedotenko's policy is to ask all autograph-seekers to return after the game, and he will sign for them on his way out of the building, but he recognizes that staying up late might not be an option for many children.
So to make it up to fans of all ages who have approached him before games but were unable to meet with him after them, Fedotenko is using the NHL All-Star break to host a special signing event from noon to 1 p.m. on Saturday at the NHL Powered by Reebok Store.
The store is conveniently located just a short distance north of Madison Square Garden at 1185 Ave. of the Americas (Sixth Ave.), on the southwest corner of 47th St.
Fedotenko specifically arranged for his signing to take place on a weekend afternoon so that his youngest fans would most likely be available to come.
We invite all Blueshirts fans to turn out at the NHL Powered by Reebok Store on Saturday afternoon and meet a popular Ranger who is more than eager to share his autograph with them.
