Dream Suite Nights made lifelong memories

by Staff Writer / New York Rangers
Throughout the 2009-10 season, the New York Rangers and the Garden of Dreams Foundation hosted guests of their partner charities for Dream Suite Nights at select games for unforgettable evenings of Rangers hockey.

Children and their families were able to watch warm-ups from ice level, receive insight into the game from MSG network personalities, and watch the Rangers take on their opponents from a catered suite with Rangers alumni and player’s wives and significant others.

Youngsters enjoy a rinkside view of Rangers warm-ups during one of the 2009-10 season's four Dream Suite Nights at Madison Square Garden.
In addition to meeting Rangers alumni and broadcasters, all of the children and families invited to MSG this season had the thrill of being welcomed on GardenVision and MSG Network during the game –- an experience that they will never forget.

On October 26, as part of Hockey Fights Cancer Awareness Night, the Rangers and Garden of Dreams hosted children and families from the Ronald McDonald House of New York. Former Rangers Nick Fotiu, Rod Gilbert, and Steve Vickers each visited with the children throughout the course of the night, taking pictures, signing autographs and distributing special gift bags.

On November 23, as part of Garden of Dreams Night, groups from Children’s Village and WHEDCo enjoyed VIP treatment at the Rangers game against the Columbus Blue Jackets. A group of Rangers wives and significant others visited the children during the game, along with Rangers alumni Ron Duguay.

On January 19, children from NYU Medical Center came to see the Rangers take on the Tampa Bay Lightning.  After watching warm-ups rinkside and meeting the MSG announcers, the children enjoyed the game in their suite with visits from Ron Duguay and Steve Vickers and members of the wives and significant others group.

On March 18, as part of Garden of Dreams Night, the Rangers hosted groups from the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Connecticut and the NYPD Widows and Children’s Fund. They were joined by Rangers alumni Adam Graves, Nick Fotiu, and Stephane Matteau to watch the Rangers take on the St. Louis Blues.

On the final Dream Suite Night of the season on April 7, children and families from SCO Family of Services enjoyed the Rangers victory over the Toronto Maple Leafs with visits from Rangers alumni Glenn Anderson, Nick Fotiu, and Gilles Villemure.

In all, the Rangers and Garden of Dreams Foundation were honored to have the privilege of hosting these evenings for our partner charities and look forward to hosting many more Dream Nights during the 2010-11 season.
