Blueshirt Prospects Get Taste of March Madness

Of the eight Rangers prospects playing collegiate hockey in the United States this season, five are currently getting their own taste of March Madness - Joey Crabb, Rob Flynn, Nate Guenin, Nathan Martz and Dominic Moore (right). With the six major Division I League Championships decided, the NCAA's first-ever field of 16 is now set. As the action is set to begin on Friday, here is a look at the Blueshirt hopefuls who will be participating.


COLORADO COLLEGE (29-6-5)
WCHA Tournament - Lost to Minnesota (4-2) in Championship game

Joey Crabb (2002 Draft - seventh round, 226th overall):
Has netted four goals and four assists for eight points in 33 games in his freshman season with the Tigers ... Appeared in 61 games with Green Bay (USHL) last season, recording 15 goals and 27 assists for 42 points.

HARVARD (22-9-2)
ECAC Tournament - Lost to Cornell (3-2 OT) in Championship game

Dominic Moore (2000 Draft - third round, 95th overall):
Leads Harvard with 23 goals and 50 points in 33 games in his senior season ... Is the 107th captain in Crimson history ... Tallied 13 goals and 16 assists for 29 points in 32 games with Harvard last season.

Rob Flynn (2002 Draft - ninth round, 270th overall):
Has netted four goals and one assist for five points in 19 games during his sophomore campaign ... Tallied one goal and three assists in 30 games with Harvard last season.

OHIO STATE (25-12-5)
CCHA Tournament - Lost to Michigan (3-0) in Semifinals game

Nate Guenin (2002 Draft - fourth round, 127th overall):
Ranks second among Ohio State defensemen with 11 points (two goals, nine assists) in 41 games in his freshman season ... Skated in 56 games with Green Bay (USHL) last season, collecting four goals and 11 assists, along with 150 penalty minutes.

NEW HAMPSHIRE (25-7-6)
Hockey East Tournament - Beat Boston University (1-0) in Championship game

Nathan Martz (2000 Draft - fifth round, 140th overall):
Has tallied 12 goals and 11 assists for 23 points in 38 games this season ... Is in his junior campaign with the Wildcats ... Posted 10 points (three goals, seven assists) in 28 games with New Hampshire last season.
