by Staff Writer / New York Rangers

New York Rangers President and General Manager Glen Sather announced today that the team will hold its annual prospect development camp from Monday, June 29 to Friday, July 3, at MSG Training Center. The camp will feature several of the Blueshirts’ top prospects, including Brady Skjei, Adam Tambellini, Brandon Halverson, and Ryan Graves.

Skjei, 21, skated in 33 games with the University of Minnesota this past season, registering one goal and nine assists for 10 points, along with a plus-seven rating and 32 penalty minutes. He established a collegiate career-high, and tied for third among team defensemen, in assists while helping the Golden Gophers capture the Big Ten Championship.

The 6-3, 206-pounder agreed to terms on an entry-level contract with the Rangers on April 1, 2015. Skjei made his AHL debut with Hartford on April 3 of this past season and skated in eight regular season games with the Wolf Pack in 2014-15. In addition, Skjei skated in 15 playoff games with Hartford, registering one goal and two assists for three points while helping the Wolf Pack advance to the AHL’s Eastern Conference Final.

The Lakeville, Minnesota native was selected by the Rangers in the first round, 28th overall, of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.

Tambellini, 20, registered 47 goals and 39 assists for 86 points, along with a plus-43 rating and 30 penalty minutes in 71 games with the Calgary Hitmen of the Western Hockey League (WHL) in 2014-15. He established WHL career-highs in games played, goals, assists, points, and plus/minus rating, and was named to the WHL Eastern Conference Second All-Star Team. In addition, Tambellini was one of six players in the three Canadian Major Junior Leagues – and one of three players in the WHL – who recorded both 40 goals and a plus/minus rating of plus-40 or better during the regular season in 2014-15.

The 6-3, 195-pounder ranked fourth in the WHL in goals, tied for fourth in plus/minus rating, tied for sixth in shorthanded goals (four), and ranked 10th in points this past season. In the playoffs, Tambellini tied for the WHL lead in goals (13), ranked fourth in the WHL in points (26), and tied for sixth in the league in assists (13). He agreed to terms on an entry-level contract with the Rangers on March 10, 2015.

The Port Moody, British Columbia native was selected by the Rangers in the third round, 65th overall, of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft.

Halverson, 19, appeared in 50 games with the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) this past season, posting a 40-5-2 record, along with a 2.63 GAA, a .913 SV%, and 6 SO. He led the OHL in wins, tied for the league lead in shutouts, ranked third in GAA, and ranked seventh in SV%. Halverson became the first Rangers draft pick in franchise history to earn at least 40 wins in juniors in one season. In addition, the 6-4, 185-pounder represented the United States at the 2015 IIHF World Junior Championship, and posted a shutout while making his international debut.

The Traverse City, Michigan native was selected by the Rangers in the second round, 59th overall, of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.

In addition to establishing QMJHL career-highs in goals, assists, points, shooting percentage (9.4%), and power play goals (four) this season, the 6-4, 220-pounder tied for third among QMJHL defensemen in goals, and he also tied for first among QMJHL defensemen in goals after he made his season debut on November 7. Graves tallied five points (two goals, three assists) in five games during the Memorial Cup and was named to the Memorial Cup All-Star Team.
