An influx of news and injury updates usually accompany the final day of a NHL team's season, and Saturday's locker clean-out day was no different for the Nashville Predators.
First, all of the Preds discussed the pain of their season ending a win short of the Western Conference Final:
Preds defensemen Mattias Ekholm and Ryan Ellis announced they will be joining Team Sweden and Team Canada, respectively, for the 2016 IIHF World Championship in Russia (which is already underway).
On the injury front, blueliner Roman Josi (Switzerland) and winger Filip Forsberg (Sweden) said they will not be playing at the 2016 Worlds due to different ailments.
Forward Craig Smith, who missed three full playoff games with a lower-body injury, also expounded on his current injury.
Most of the attention was on what lies ahead for the Predators after, arguably, their best season in franchise history.
