Nashville's line of Smith with Taylor Beck
and Gabriel Bourque
was dominant, combining to contribute five goals and eight assists on the night. Beck opened the game's scoring 10 seconds in the first period and notched the primary assist on three of Smith's four goals on the game. Bourque dished out four assists on the night. Smith complimented his four goals with an assist on Smith's goal.
The Lightning tied the game 1-1 midway through the first period and then Smith countered 3:14 later to put the Preds rookies up for good. Smith added two more goals early in the second frame and Nashville went into the second intermission up 4-2. Smith, Brent Andrews

split the action in net for Nashville. Pickard drew the starting assignment and stopped 20-of-22 shots before giving way to Engren mid-way through the second period. Engren closed with 20 saves on 21 shots.
