Rinne Earns Shutout For Finland

Pekka Rinne picked up his first shutout of the 2010 World Championships with a 2-0 blanking of Belarus on Friday. Finland improved to 3-1 on the tournament with two game remaining in the Qualification Round. Preds prospect Antti Pihlstrom picked up an assist on Finland's second goal, an even-strength marker midway through the second period.

Rinne also picked up a shutout in last year's World Championships, finishing the '09 tournament with a 1.93 goals against average and .926 save percentage.

In other Preds-related action, Sweden picked up a 4-2 win on Friday. Anders Lindback dressed as the back-up goaltender, but did not see any game action. Forward Jonas Andersson skated 15:58 of ice time (fourth-most amoung Sweden's forwards), but did not register in the scoring.
