As the school year starts up, the Nashville Predators Youth Marketing & Fan Development Department is wrapping up its seventh annual Hockey Rules Summerfest Tour presented by United Healthcare.
The Summerfest Tour is a free interactive hockey clinic that traveled this off-season to local youth camps between June and August. The clinics focused on the basic fundamentals of hockey including stick handing, shooting and teamwork. The Nashville Predators supplied all the necessary equipment as provided by the NHL Street initiative, demonstrating that all a child needs to play hockey is a pair of sneakers. This summer the Preds exposed the sport of hockey to over 700 children in middle Tennessee summer camps in Williamson, Davidson, Sumner and Rutherford counties.
Now that the summer season is coming to a close the Preds are getting ready to take over Nashville area physical education classes. For more information and to submit a request to have the Preds visit your school visit nashvillpredators.com/hockeyrules.
