Nashville, Tenn. (January 8, 2009) – Nashville Predators President of Hockey Operations/General Manager David Poile announced today that the club has called up forward Mike Santorelli from the Milwaukee Admirals of the American Hockey League.
Santorelli, 23 (12/14/85), was selected to play for Team Canada at the 2009 AHL All-Star Classic on Tuesday, his first career All-Star selection in his second professional season. The Vancouver, B.C., native currently leads Milwaukee, and is tied for second in the AHL with 41 points (13g-28a). A sixth-round choice (178th overall) of Nashville in 2004, Santorelli was selected as the CCM/AHL Player of the Month for December after notching 23 points (8g-15a) in 14 games, and helping the team to a record-tying 12 wins in the month. In his two seasons with the Ads, he has never missed a game, playing 115 straight in that span.
The Predators play host to the Pittsburgh Penguins tonight at 7 p.m. CT at the Sommet Center, the fourth game of a five-game home stand which ends Saturday.
