Preds Call Up Goaltender Drew MacIntyre From AHL

Nashville, Tenn. (March 10, 2009) – Nashville Predators President of Hockey Operations/General Manager David Poile announced today that the club has recalled goaltender Drew MacIntyre on an emergency basis from the Milwaukee Admirals of the American Hockey League. MacIntyre will replace goaltender Pekka Rinne on the roster for tonight's game against Washington. Rinne is sick and did not practice today.

MacIntyre, 25 (6/24/83), has played 44 games for the Admirals this season, and currently leads the AHL in wins, having posted a 29-11-2 record. A free-agent signee of Nashville on July 1, 2008, MacIntyre also ranks among the league leaders in goals-against average (2.34) and save percentage (.920). The Charlottetown, P.E.I., native has appeared in two NHL games – both with Vancouver in 2007-08 – notching a 2.95 goals-against average and .864 save percentage.

The Predators play host to the Washington Capitals tonight at the Sommet Center.
