Nashville Predators Executive Vice President/General Manager David Poile announced Monday that the club has recalled defenseman Sheldon Brookbank (SHEHL-dohn BRUK-bank) from the Milwaukee Admirals of the American Hockey League.

Brookbank, 26, (10/3/80), leads AHL defensemen in scoring with 36 points (9g-27a) in 51 games this season and has posted 110 penalty minutes. The 6-2, 200-pound blueliner, who was a member of the Canadian team at the 2007 AHL All-Star Game last week, led the Admirals in penalty minutes (232) and ranked second among team backliners in scoring (9g-26a-35pts) in 2005-06. The Lanigan, Sask. native was originally signed as a free agent by Nashville on August 4, 2005.

Nashville has placed forward Jordin Tootoo on injured reserve.

The Predators (37-14-3) take on the Pittsburgh Penguins (26-17-9) on Tuesday night at 6:30 p.m. CT at Mellon Arena. The game will be televised locally on FSN South and broadcast on The Zone (WGFX 104.5-FM).
