Predators Prospect Update (Feb. 20)

by Staff Writer / Nashville Predators
Preds goaltending prospects have had a good stretch, led by Anders Lindback, a seventh round pick in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft. Lindback has taken over the No. 1 spot for Brynas in the Swedish Elite League, stopping 64-of-67 shots in his last three starts (.955 save percentage), all wins to help Brynas move into the final playoff spot in the SEL.

In North America, Chet Pickard, a 2008 first round pick, posted a 2-0-0 week by stopping 67-of-68 shots in his two appearances (.985 save percentage) for the WHL's Tri-Cities Americans. The team's 2007 second round pick, Jeremy Smith, stopped 124-of-129 shots in three starts (.961 save percentage), while posting a 2-1-0 record.

Nashville's other 2008 first round pick, Colin Wilson, continues to emerge as the Hobey Baker front runner (college hockey's equivalent of the Heisman Trophy), scoring three goals and four points in two games for No. 1 ranked Boston University last weekend to pick up Hockey East Player of the Week honors. Fellow NCAA prospect Ben Ryan also had a big weekend with two goals and five points in two games for No. 2 ranked Notre Dame.
