Pekka Rinne To Play in Monday Night's AHL All-Star Game

Predators prospect goaltender Pekka Rinne will compete in the 2008 AHL All-Star Game in Binghamton, NY on Monday, January 28. Rinne, a member of the PlanetUSA Team, is making his second AHL All-Star appearance. Fans can listen to the game live or watch a web broadcast of the game by logging on to theahl.com.


Forward Rich Peverley was selected to the Canadian Team for the All-Star Game, but is not participating due to his recent call-up to the NHL by the Predators.

Rinne started his All-Star Weekend off on a strong note, capturing the Top Goaltender Award during the AHL Skills Competition on Sunday. Rinne stopped 16 of 19 total shots, including nine out of 10 during the Rapid Fire event, two of three during the Pass and Score Event, and five of six in the Breakaway Relay.
