Opening Weekend in Smashville Presented by Nissan set for Saturday, January 19 and Monday January, 21

Nashville, Tenn. – The Nashville Predators kick off their 2012-13 Opening Weekend presented by Nissan this Saturday, January 19 at 7 p.m. vs. the Columbus Blue Jackets at Bridgestone Arena. The fun begins around 4 p.m. with a gold carpet entrance for all Nashville Predators players, coaches and broadcasters. Directly following the Smashville-style entrance is a plaza party with live music, inflatable games, visits from Gnash and the Ladies of Smashville and more. Fans will also have the opportunity to register to win a Nissan Sentra to be given away that evening.

“We are thrilled to be returning to action and we are especially anxious to welcome back the greatest fans in the NHL,” Nashville Predators CEO Jeff Cogen said. “We enter the season with a strong team, dedicated staff and unparalleled game atmosphere. Thanks to our loyal legion of fans for joining us for what is sure to be an exciting season, where every goal and every play will be more significant than the last. Fans should also keep an eye out for special promotions and deals welcoming them back to Smashville!”

All fans in attendance at the home opener will receive a commemorative poster courtesy of Nissan, half-price draft beer and soda all game long and have the opportunity to take in the first post-game radio show of the season in Bridgestone Arena’s 102.5 The Game Studio, located on the main concourse outside section 118. Fans in attendance should also keep an eye out for Random Acts of Gold, where Bridgestone Arena and Nashville Predators employees may surprise guests with seat upgrades, gift certificates, Preds swag and more! The evening’s game will also include a ceremonial puck drop with lucky Season Ticket Holders and fans. Saturday is also a McDonald’s Family 4 Pack Night.

Opening Weekend presented by Nissan continues on Monday, January 21 against the St. Louis Blues with a special 5 p.m. start time. All fans in attendance will receive an O’Charley’s magnetic schedule, half-price draft beer and soda all game long, $1 hot dogs courtesy of Nathan’s Famous Hot Dogs and Random Acts of Gold. Monday is also a Hometown Heroes Night presented by Channel 4 where all educators, police officers, firefighters, nurses, EMTs and Military personnel receive a $20 discount off all lower bowl and Gary Force Acura Level seating and $10 off upper level seating (with proof of profession at the Bridgestone Arena box office).

Opening Night in Smashville is now SOLD OUT! A very limited number of ticket holds may be released this Friday and Saturday. Communications will be distributed in the event of ticket releases. The popular Tennessee Lotto $10 Gameday Seats – where 100 upper-level tickets will be made available for just $10 each on the day of the game – are still available for Saturday’s game (distributed in lottery format). These tickets may only be purchased at the Bridgestone Arena box office beginning at 10 a.m. Limit four per customer.

Season ticketholders continue to receive the biggest savings, reserved seating and most comprehensive benefits of all fans, with an exclusive pre-sale through Thursday, Jan. 17 for all 2012-13 home games. Tickets for all other 2012-13 regular season games go on sale to the general public on Friday, Jan. 18 at 10 a.m. through all outlets.
