New-Look NashvillePredators.com Debuts with Host of Fresh Features

by Thomas Willis / Nashville Predators

A new vision was instilled for NashvillePredators.com prior to the beginning of the 2014-15 season, with the club’s website shifting its goal toward producing richer content focused on giving fans more access to the team and organization. The introduction of daily feature stories and practices reports, the behind-the-scenes video series Beneath the Ice and blogs from Preds TV and radio broadcasters were just some of the new material added to the website.

This offseason was used to build upon the recent success of the Predators website by creating new ways to engage fans through feature stories, videos and infographics, as well as with the release of a new Smashville App for iPhone. Now the clear source for fans to get their fill of the Nashville Predators, see below a sampling of the new features on NashvillePredators.com:

Smashville Spotlight and Preds TV Scrolling Modules:

Positioned on the homepage, these modules display the selection of the best media available on the Preds. From stories and blogs or behind-the-scenes videos and highlights, fans are able to quickly see the highlighted information on the players and organization. Each featured video or story can be found by clicking the arrows on the ends of each module or by using the links to visit content sections at the top right of both the Smashville Spotlight and Preds TV modules.

Additionally, the Daily Perspective module toward the bottom of the homepage features a new Predators photo each day, which shows the best shots of the team both on and off the ice. Fans can also click through to view through all the photo galleries coming out of Smashville.

Smashville Central:

Designed to aid season-ticket holders and fans wanting to connect with the Preds via social media, the module positioned to the right of every page hosts links to the club’s Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and App pages. Smashville Central also serves as the gateway to MySmashville.com, the website debuting this season which houses Smashville Rewards, a live chat with an account representative and the ability to manage tickets.

Finally, the module also brings the “Follow the Preds” hub to the forefront. The page lists each player’s social media accounts (on Twitter and Instagram), as well as links to follow the team’s media members.

Infographics:

Available after each Predators game, both in the Infographics module on the homepage and under the Stats menu, infographics give a visual representation of the key stats and players involved in each contest. From a pie chart on Pekka Rinne’s save percentage, full-ice graphics displaying the location of each goal scored or pictures of a contest’s three stars, NashvillePredators.com infographics have proven to be an early favorite within the 2015-16 season.

Media-focused Recaps:

Reformatted recaps for the 2015-16 season allow for all the action from each Predators contest to be ingested in a dynamic and in-depth manner. Start with full highlights and read thoughts on the pivotal aspects of the game from Preds players and Head Coach Peter Laviolette. Hover to view the gif of the game, watch postgame interviews from the locker room and then preview the infographic for the evening. Finally, the End Game section hosts the stats and facts of note that fans need to know.

Nashville Predators season-ticket holders enjoy a plethora of benefits, including the opportunity to take in the 2016 NHL® All-Star Weekend hosted in Nashville.
