Nashville Predators Reassign Mazanec to Milwaukee

Nashville, Tenn. (January 21, 2015) – Nashville Predators President of Hockey Operations/General Manager David Poile announced Wednesday that the club has reassigned goaltender Marek Mazanec (MAIR-ehk muh-ZAN-ehk) to Milwaukee (AHL).

The Nashville Predators, who have an 8-1-3 record since the Christmas Break, head into the NHL All-Star Break leading the League in point-percentage (.722). A trio of Predators players: Pekka Rinne, Shea Weber and Filip Forsberg were named to represent the Club at the All-Star festivities. Weber and Forsberg will both participate in the NHL All-Star Fantasy Draft presented by Draft Kings on Friday (7 p.m. CT, NBCSN) and the Honda NHL All-Star Skills Competition on Saturday (6 p.m., NBCSN). Weber will represent the Preds in the Honda NHL All-Star Game on Sunday afternoon (4 p.m., NBCSN), his fourth-straight All-Star Game appearance. In addition to Nashville’s player representatives, the Predators coaching staff, led by head coach Peter Laviolette and including assistants Phil Housley and Kevin McCarthy and goaltending coach Ben Vanderklok were named All-Star Game coaches.

The Predators return to Bridgestone Arena on Tuesday, Jan. 27 to take on the visiting Colorado Avalanche (7 p.m. CT, FOX Sports Tennessee, 102.5 The Game).
