Hot Shots Wraps Up School Year

by Staff Writer / Nashville Predators
As the 2008-09 school year draws to a close the Predators Hot Shots program concludes another year of visiting local elementary and middle school physical education classes.

The Nashville Predators Amateur & Youth Hockey staff visited 22 schools in middle Tennessee to introduce hockey into the physical education curriculum. Over 2000 students were introduced to the history of the sport of hockey and learned about the routine and work habits of Nashville Predators players.

The Predators provided all necessary equipment and through this free grassroots initiative students participated in several exercises that taught fundamental street hockey skills in a fun and competitive fashion.

The Predators Amateur & Youth Hockey staff will now turn their attention to the Hot Shots Summerfest Tour where they will attend summer youth camps throughout middle Tennessee as a grassroots effort to conduct street hockey clinics to help grow and promote the sport.
