Ford Ice Center, Preds Create Free Learn-To-Skate Program Called Go Skate!

The Nashville Predators, in conjunction with Ford Ice Center and the Scott Hamilton Skating Academy, will be launching a new free initiative, Go Skate!, an 8-week learn to skate series for boys and girls ages 4-12 who are new to skating.

In Go Skate! Participants sign up for either a Tuesday, Thursday, or Saturday series of classes which span for eight weeks, and receive skating instruction at Ford Ice Center from the Scott Hamilton Skating Academy. Upon completion of the program, participants are outfitted with a free pair of hockey skates, or figure skates at Perani’s Hockey World.

Interested participants will have the ability to sign up for Go Skate! during four select Nashville Predators homes games at the Ford Ice Center table outside of section 108 prior to the start of the third period.

More information on the start date of each session is below:

  • Sign-up date: Saturday, Dec. 19 vs. Minnesota
    • 8-week Learn To Skate begins the week of Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2016
  • Sign-up date: Tuesday, Feb. 15 vs. Dallas
    • 8-week Learn To Skate begins the week of Tuesday, March 1, 2016
  • Sign-up date: Tuesday, March 21 vs. Los Angeles
    • 8-week Learn To Skate begins the week of Tuesday, April 26, 2016
