Nashville's top developmental affiliate, the Milwaukee Admirals, defeated the visiting Iowa Stars 4-1 Sunday afternoon to win Game 7 of their American Hockey League West Division semifinal series against the Houston Aeros by a count of four games to three. The Admirals will advance to face the Houston Aeros in the West Division Finals. That
series will begin Thursday night.
Forward Jordin Tootoo, who was reassigned by Nashville to Milwaukee for Game 7, opened the scoring 4:49 into the first period. Simon Gamache and Darren Haydar each added a goal and an assist and goaltender Jake Moreland recorded the win in his second appearance as an Admiral. Moreland earned the game's first star honor, stopping 32 of 33 Iowa shots. Moreland made his Admirals debut Friday when he stepped in for goalie Brian Finley, who left Game 6 midway through the first period with an unspecified injury. Haydar currently leads the AHL in playoff scoring with 12 points, while Gamache is tied for first in goals with six.
Defenseman Kevin Klein scored the game-winning goal on the power play 12:16 into the first period.
