Dvorak, a forward from the Czech Republic, played 18 seasons in the NHL with eight teams. He scored more than 19 goals and more that 50 points once during that time (31 goals, 67 points for the New York Rangers in 2000-01), but was a solid two-way forward who scored at least 15 goals seven times. His teams qualified for the Stanley Cup Playoffs four times during his career, but two of those four reached the Cup Final.
The Florida Panthers selected Dvorak in the first round (No. 10) of the 1995 NHL Draft, and he became a regular as an 18-year-old in 1995-96, finishing with 27 points (13 goals, 14 assists) in 77 games to help the third-year Panthers reach the Cup Final, where they were swept by the Colorado Avalanche.

Dvorak scored 19 goals and 43 points for the Panthers in 1998-99 but was traded to the San Jose Sharks and then the Rangers on Dec. 30, 1999. He had his best NHL season in 2000-01, even though New York missed the playoffs, but didn't come close to those numbers again and was traded to the Edmonton Oilers on March 11, 2003.
He made his second trip to the Stanley Cup Final in 2006, this time with the Oilers, who lost in seven games to the Carolina Hurricanes.
Dvorak signed with the St. Louis Blues as a free agent Sept. 14, 2006, then returned to Florida for four seasons before playing 13 games with the Atlanta Thrashers at the end of 2010-11. He played one season each with the Dallas Stars, Anaheim Ducks and Hurricanes before retiring in 2014 with 590 points (227 goals, 363 assists) in 1,260 NHL games, and seven goals (two goals, five assists) in 39 playoff games.
