Stanley Cup victories and sterling faceoff work have defined Stoll's career.
The forward from Melville, Saskatchewan, won the Stanley Cup with the Los Angeles Kings in 2012 and 2014, helped lead the Edmonton Oilers to the Final in 2006 and has been one of the best faceoff men of his generation. Selected in the second round (No. 46) of the 2000 NHL Draft by the Calgary Flames, Stoll failed to agree on a contract. After re-entering the draft in 2002, he was again a second-round pick, this time by Edmonton at No. 36.

Stoll scored his first NHL goal in his sixth game while leading Edmonton with five shots in a 5-4 win against the New York Rangers. Stoll scored again in Edmonton's next game at Boston and played in every Oilers game the rest of the season, finishing with 10 goals and 21 points in 68 games.
Stoll skated with Edmonton of the American Hockey League during the 2004-05 NHL lockout before returning to play a major role with the surprising 2005-06 Oilers. Stoll played in all 82 games that season, scoring 22 goals, and his 68 points were third most on the team. Stoll added four goals and 10 points in 24 Stanley Cup Playoff games, but Edmonton lost a seven-game Final to the Carolina Hurricanes.
After two more seasons of double-digit goal totals and faceoff win percentages of at least 55% with Edmonton, the Oilers traded Stoll to Los Angeles. Stoll posted three straight 40-plus point seasons, and only once in seven seasons there did he fail to win at least 55% of his faceoffs.
While Stoll's offense tailed off toward the end of his years with the Kings, he chipped in scoring at critical moments. He scored two goals during the Kings' run to the Stanley Cup in 2012 and they were both game-winners in the first round against Vancouver.
Stoll had an assist in the Kings' Cup-clinching Game 6 win against the New Jersey Devils that year. He also had one in Game 5 of the Cup Final in 2014 when the Kings finished off the New York Rangers.
