In 2015-16, Froese played in 56 games for the Maple Leafs and had five points (two goals, three assists). He made his NHL debut on Oct. 24, 2015 in a 5-3 loss to the Canadiens and scored his first NHL goal on Dec. 19, 2015 in a 5-0 win against the Los Angeles Kings.
Froese was selected by the Chicago Blackhawks in the fourth round (No. 119) in the 2009 NHL Draft after he had 57 points (19 goals, 38 assists) for Everett of the Western Hockey League. He signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Blackhawks on May 31, 2011 and played the next three seasons with Rockford of the AHL and Toledo and Cincinnati of the ECHL.
