Braydon Coburn Bio

The biggest night of Coburn's NHL career came after a game when he was a healthy scratch.

Coburn, a defenseman who had played 935 games during 15 NHL seasons and 137 more in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, was the third player to lift the Cup after the Tampa Bay Lightning defeated the Dallas Stars 2-0 on Sept. 28, 2020, to win their second championship since entering the NHL in 1992. He received the Cup from Conn Smythe Trophy winner and fellow defenseman Victor Hedman; that came after NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman presented the trophy to Lightning captain Steven Stamkos, who handed it to Hedman.
