Bibeau was selected by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the sixth round (No. 172) in the 2013 NHL Draft after he went 28-11-3 with a 2.81 goals-against average and .911 save percentage for P.E.I. in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.
In 2013-14 with Val d'Or of the QMJHL, Bibeau won the Guy Lafleur Trophy as the playoffs most valuable player after he went 16-8 with a 2.80 GAA, .913 save percentage and one shutout in 24 games to help it win the President's Cup. Val d'Or also played in the 2014 Memorial Cup, and Bibeau was named to the Memorial Cup's most outstanding goaltender.

On June 3, 2014, Bibeau signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Maple Leafs and spent three seasons with Toronto in the American Hockey League, including going 28-9-1-3 with a 2.70 GAA and .909 save percentage in 40 games in 2015-16.
Bibeau made his NHL debut on Dec. 11, 2016 and made 26 saves in a 3-1 loss to the Colorado Avalanche. He recorded his first NHL win in his second start, making 25 saves in a 3-2 overtime victory against the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Bibeau signed a one-year, two-way contract with the San Jose Sharks on July 1, 2017, and went 23-14-4 with a 2.37 GAA and .919 save percentage and five shutouts in 2017-18 and was named to the AHL All-Star Classic with the San Jose Barracuda.
