Pittsburgh Penguins Extend Radio Deal with 105.9 The X Through 2017-18

Clear Channel Media and Entertainment Pittsburgh and The Pittsburgh Penguins today announced a three-year extension to their radio rights agreement that will continue Penguins broadcast coverage on 105.9 The X through the 2017-18 season. Penguins’ games have aired on Clear Channel Media and Entertainment Pittsburgh radio stations since 1999 and exclusively on 105.9 The X since 2006.

In addition to the three-year extension, the Penguins and Clear Channel Pittsburgh have agreed to other broadcast coverage elements that will be effective during the 2012-2013 season including an expanded pre-game show from its current 30-minute time frame to 60 minutes and a one-hour weekly magazine show called Pensweek that will air on 105. 9 The X every Saturday at 9:00 a.m. ET throughout the season. Penguins Radio 24/7, the team branded radio station that provides instant news and access to the Pittsburgh Penguins, will continue to air on the Pens Mobile App, the Penguins’ website, 105.9 FM HD-2 and iHeartRadio, Clear Channel’s free, industry leading digital radio platform.
