9:59 PM: The final horn sounds as the Pens best the Devils, 6-1.

Three Stars:
1. Sidney Crosby
2. Evgeni Malkin
3. Hal Gill

9:56 PM: The crowd again chants "MVP!" in Malkin's honor as the Russian forward knocked Zubrus to the ice in the Devils zone.

9:53 PM: Steelers' kicker Jeff Reed is in the crowd tonight and just appeared on the jumbotron. He flexed for the camera and the crowd went crazy.

9:50 PM: The Mellon Arena Faithful dance enthusiastically to "Cotton Eyed Joe."

9:38 PM: Guerin gets into a bout with David Clarkson near center ice. Both players threw a few jabs before the fight was broken up.

9:35 PM: Chris Kunitz finds a rebound in front of the net and backhands it far side to boost the Penguins lead to 6-1. Penguins 6, Devils 1.

9:26 PM: Third period action begins.

9:08 PM: Out of town scores tonight: The Islanders lead the Capitals, 3-2, in the third. Buffalo and Atlanta are tied at 2-2 in the third. Philadelphia trails Toronto, 3-1, after two. Oh, and did we mention that the Pens lead the Devils, 5-1, after two?

9:06 PM: The second period concludes with the Pens four points ahead of the Devils. The theatrics are on as the period ends with a scrum in the Penguins zone but the officials break it up.

8:48 PM: The Pens lay it on thick and net another goal just 13 seconds later. Ruslan Fedotenko chased a puck down in the Devils end and wristed a shot on net. Staal scooped up the rebound and launched it past Brodeur for the point. Penguins 5, Devils 1.

8:47 PM: Crosby re-directs a shot into the net off of a shot from Letang for a power-play goal. A fan holds up a poster that says, "Sid-sational!" Penguins 4, Devils 1.

8:31 PM: The Pens successfully kill off the penalty.

8:30 PM: The Second period begins with the Pens on the penalty kill.

8:14 PM: The first period contained everything a good hockey game ought to: fast paced action, seamless goals, and a little bit of roughing. With four points already on the board, it's hard to imagine this game could be more exciting than it already is. The Pens head to the locker room with a nice two-point lead over the Devils, having outshot New Jersey, 11-10, in the first frame.

8:07 PM: Malkin nets a power-play goal from the near circle with a beautiful wrist shot. The Mellon Arena crowd chants "MVP! MVP!" in his honor. Penguins 3, Devils 1.

7:55 PM: The Devils cut the Penguins' lead in half. Dainius Zubrus snapped a shot off from the near circle and Brian Gionta was in the blue paint to smack the rebound in past Fleury. Penguins 2, Devils 1.

7:48 PM: Bill Guerin boosts the Pens lead to 2-0 just moments after Cooke's goal. In a classic give-and-go play, Guerin dished the puck to Kunitz who dished it right back to Guerin. Guerin lifted a shot above Brodeur's left shoulder for the point. Penguins 2, Devils 0.

7:45 PM: Matt Cooke nets the first goal of the game to give the Pens an early, 1-0, lead. Cooke scooped up a loose puck from behind the net and held onto it until releasing a shot into the net. Penguins 1, Devils 0.

7:39 PM: The puck drops in a highly anticipated Atlantic Division tilt between your Pens and the division leading New Jersey Devils. The Devils are 0-4-1 in their last five contests and are hungary for a win tonight.

Marc-Andre Fleury is in net for the Pens and scratches are forward Eric Godard and defenseman Philippe Boucher.

Super-star goalie Martin Brodeur is in net for the Devils and scratches are forward Patrik Elias and defensemen Jay Leach and Andy Greene.
