Pens Fans Rally Around Captain

by Staff Writer / Pittsburgh Penguins
The Penguins know they’re in the most unenviable position of being down 3-0 in their opening round Stanley Cup playoff series to the Philadelphia Flyers. They know they have yet to play the way they’re capable of. They know they need everybody to be at their best for a full 60 minutes in Game 4 to keep their Stanley Cup hopes alive.

There is one more thing that the Penguins need heading into the Wells Fargo Center on Wednesday night, and that’s the support of their amazing fans. As captain Sidney Crosby said following practice Tuesday…

Pens fans rose to the occasion in support of their captain and their team via Twitter, and we wouldn't have expected any less from the best fans in hockey. Here's a sampling of some of their tweets...

"@PensInsideScoop SC87 is the heart and soul of the #Pens. We're behind him and the rest of the team until the end. #keepcalmandbelieve"

"@PensInsideScoop Tell Crosby we're here for him every second remaining, whether the rest of the season is 16 games or 60 minutes."

"@PensInsideScoop Pls tell Sid & Team fans are behind them. We are proud of them and all they have accomplished. WE BELIEVE!"

"@PensInsideScoop He's our captain and this is our team no matter what. "

"@pghpenguins @PensInsideScoop Gotta stay behind ur team no matter what. The passion never changes #pens"

"@PensInsideScoop Tell them that we believe in this team #Believe #PensIn7"

"@PensInsideScoop Nothing worth having ever came easy. Pens fans know this and will stand by their team. Let's Go Pens!"

     "@PensInsideScoop we won 11 straight why not 4 in a row? #letsgopens"
