Penguins Trim Training Camp Roster

The Pittsburgh Penguins have cut their training camp roster to 41 players, it was announced Sunday by Executive Vice President/General Manager Ray Shero. 

Ten players have been assigned to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, the American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate of the Pittsburgh Penguins.  The AHL club is set to open training camp on Thursday.

The 10 players assigned to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton include; forwards Aaron Boogaard, Joe Jensen, Mark Letestu, Kurtis McLean, and Kyle Rank; defensemen Mark Ardelan, Paul Bissonnette, Jonathan D’Aversa, and Deryk Engelland and goaltender David Brown.

The Penguins have 13 defensemen, 24 forwards, and four goaltenders for a total of 41 players remaining in training camp. 

The team is set to visit Montreal for preseason games against the Canadiens on Monday and Tuesday.
