VERIZON GAME DAY REPORT
Head coach Dan Bylsma had a few notes for tonight's lineup
- Martin is expected to play
- Letang was ill, but is probable to play
- Fleury is starting in goal
QUOTE OF THE DAY
Michelle asked me to do captions today. You've been warned...
You may not see it under the tinted visor, or even hear the echo, but Neal is laughing like a comic book villian
"Do you like apples? I went to Harvard. How do you like 'dem apples?"
During a drill Martin gets distracted by a UFO. It's probably just a bird
Speaking of Martin, great to see him on the ice again
While Fleury guards the left post, evil lurks behind the right post
I hope that after Dupuis pulled out his tooth on the bench he said, "Even the Mona Lisa is falling a part." If you get the movie reference then we can be friends.

MORNING SKATE DEETS
Defenseman Paul Martin is at the team's morning skate (he's missed the past two contests with a lower-body injury). But blueliner Kris Letang was absent. We hope to get an update on his status from coach.
The Pens used the following work flow...
The six defensemen rotated with three at each end.
1st PP unit: Martin and Malkin on points. Kunitz, Neal and Crosby down low.
2nd PP unit: Niskanen and Maatta on points. Jokinen, Sutter and Bennett down low.
TWITTER Q&A: EVGENI MALKIN
“When you see these young men here you really appreciate what great guys they are,” said Ron Cichowicz, chief communications officer at Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank. “As we all gather with our families, to know that some of the people in this community will be enjoying a meal that day as well is heart warming.”
Paul Martin, Matt Niskanen, Beau Bennett and Robert Bortuzzo handed out the food in the Penguins’ seventh annual Turkey Delivery. Martin is a veteran having participated in the past and he had the most important job of handing out the bird.

START ME UP
Hello hockey fans! Tonight the Pens will host the Nashville Predators at CONSOL Energy Center at 7 p.m. On Thursday defenseman Paul Martin skated with the team during an optional skate and head coach Dan Bylsma said he was optimistic that Martin could return tonight. We'll keep a close eye on this as it develops.
Stick tap (Pens PR)
Since the Pens are playing Nashville, the Music City and home of some of the greatest country artists of all time, I decided to start the blog with a country song. One of my favorite country song's is "Wagon Wheel" by Old Crow Medicine Show. But when I told a friend of my selection he suggested I use Darius Rucker instead because the Duck Dynasty crew are in the video. So I made the switch for DJ.
(Update: Thanks to Be Spang for his comment below noting that Bob Dillon wrote the original-original version of "Wagon Wheel." Awesome info. I was not aware of that!!)
And maybe this legend will make an appearance...
