The Pittsburgh Penguins have recalled forward Oskar Sundqvist from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League, it was announced today by executive vice president and general manager Jim Rutherford.

Forward Dominik Simon has been re-assigned to WBS.

Sundqvist, 21, made his NHL debut on Feb. 5 at Tampa Bay and recorded his first NHL point, an assist, on Feb. 24 at Boston in the most recent of his 10 NHL games.

The 6-foot-3, 209-pound Sundqvist has 17 points (5G-12A) in 44 games with WBS this season. He has one assist in five games for WBS since returning from his first NHL stint with Pittsburgh.

Pittsburgh drafted Sundqvist in the third round (81st overall) of the 2012 NHL Draft, two picks before it selected goaltender Matt Murray.
