The Pittsburgh Penguins have recalled forward Dustin Jeffrey from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of American Hockey League, it was announced by executive vice president and general manager Ray Shero.
Jeffrey, 22, has appeared in four games with Pittsburgh this season. He recorded his first career two-point game with a goal and an assist Dec. 11 at Buffalo.
Jeffrey (6-foot-1, 205 pounds) ranks sixth in the AHL in scoring with 39 points (13G-26A) through 36 games. He also ranks second in the league in shorthanded goals with five, while ranking ninth (tied) in assists (24) and eighth in shots with 130.
Jeffrey, Pittsburgh’s sixth-round pick (171st overall) in the 2007 Entry Draft, currently paces WBS in assists (24), points (39), shorthanded goals (5) and shots (130).
