The Pittsburgh Penguins have recalled forward Harry Zolnierczyk from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League (AHL), it was announced today by executive vice president and general manager Ray Shero.
Zolnierczyk, 26, has played in nine games with Pittsburgh this season. He scored his first goal as a Penguin when he beat the Calgary Flames Karri Ramo on Dec. 21 at CONSOL Energy Center.
The 5-foot-11, 185-pound Zolnierczyk places second on WBS this season with 14 goals in 37 AHL contests. His 25 points rank third (tied) on WBS.
Zolnierczyk, who hails from Toronto, Ontario, has amassed eight points (4G-4A) in 53 career NHL games with the Penguins and Philadelphia Flyers. He was acquired by the Penguins from the Anaheim Ducks last June.
