Penguins Offer Youth Hockey Events in July at CONSOL Energy Center

The Pittsburgh Penguins are ready for “Hockey In July” -- a series of youth hockey events scheduled for next month at CONSOL Energy Center.


There will be four one-day skills clinics the week of July 11-15, ranging from offensive skills to power skating. Instructors include Wilkes-Barre/Scranton coaches John Hynes and Alain Nasreddine and Penguins power skating consultant Marianne Watkins.

Clinics will be offered to four age groups: squirt (9-10), pee wee (11-12), bantam, (13-14) and midget (15-17). The squirt/pee wee and bantam/midget groups will be combined for the clinics.

The Penguins also are hosting their first Mite American Development Model (ADM) tournament on Friday and Saturday, July 8 and 9, at CONSOL Energy Center.  It will be for mite age players – 2003 birth year and younger.

All games will be cross-ice, and each team will play four games – two each day on CONSOL Energy Center ice.
