CLASS AAA

Shaler 6, Mt. Lebanon 1
Shaler cruised to a 6-1 victory over Mt. Lebanon at Mellon Arena Wednesday night to earn a spot in the Class AAA Penguins Cup Final.

Zac Lynch notched three points (2G-1A) and Pat Schafer (1G-1A), Shane Shiring (2A) and Zach Piskurich (2A) each tallied two points for Shaler (22-2-0). Sean McCue, Bill Dobson and Brian Stein also scored while Tyler Schreiber, Drew Martz and Dillon Burkarth chipped in helpers.

Brooks Behling scored the lone goal for Mt. Lebanon (12-8-5), with Travis Liskowski assisting.

Seneca Valley 4, Upper St. Clair 3 OT
Seneca Valley's Erik Larson tied the game at 3-3 with under eight minutes left to play and Mike Rohm was the overtime hero after netting the winning goal for the Raiders in a 4-3 triumph over Upper St. Clair.

Sean Sokolowski and Kaleb Schwab also scored goals for Seneca Valley (14-5-5) while Logan Pfeffer, Taylor Wagner, Ryan Hestin, Brandon Platt and Larson tallied assists.

Upper St. Clair (15-5-4) goal scorers were Zach Feldman, Theodore Schnieders and Justin Selep. Stephen Gielarowski, Timothy Graulty, Selep, Schieders and James Kline assisted. Mike Wregget made 41 saves for the Panthers.


CLASS AA

Greater 5, Franklin Regional 3
Greater Latrobe scored five consecutive goals to defeat Franklin Regional, 5-3, at Mellon Arena Wednesday night to advance to the Class AA Penguins Cup Final.

Tyler Berger, Cody Ray, Tyler Baloh, JeffJoe Regula and Matt Balis each scored for undefeated Latrobe (24-0-0). Baloh, Regula and Ray added helpers and Zachary LaDuke, Andre Ong and Christopher Karnes chipped assists as well.

Eugene Mack scored twice and Pete Ellis added a goal for Franklin Regional (14-9-2), while Shane Crossey, Ryan Crossey, Pat Coyne and Johnny Miller notched assists.

Montour 3, Bishop Canevin 1
Montour goaltender Matt Skoff made 34 saves and held Bishop Canevin to one goal as the Spartans (17-7-1) defeated the Crusaders, 3-1, at Mellon Arena Thursday to earn a spot in the Class AA Penguins Cup championship. 

Andy Beck tallied two points with a goal and an assist, Domenic Martinelli and Zach Milnarcik scored goals for Montour while John Latta and Josh Castelveter notched assists.

Vincent Nicolella tallied the only goal for Bishop Canevin (16-7-2) with assists from K.Frank Vance and Jonathan Kostial.

CLASS A

Mars 4, Quaker Valley 0
Top-ranked Mars advanced to the Class A Penguins Cup Final after knocking off Quaker Valley, 4-0, at Mellon Arena Wednesday night.

Jake Robash, Tyler Whiteford, Derek Sitterly and Steven Tracy scored for Mars (22-1-0), while goalie Tyler Stepke stopped all seven shots he faced. Andrew Santa chipped in three assists while Sitterly, Mike Mazzotta, Brady Sipe and Robbie Sigurdsson added helpers for Mars.

Goaltender Zack Taylor made 36 saves for Quaker Valley (15-7-1).


Bishop McCort 9, Serra Catholic 3
Zachary Barto netted a hat trick to lead Bishop McCort (17-4-2) to a 9-3 victory over Serra Catholic (20-3-0) to advance to the Class A Penguins Cup Final.

Dane Domonkos tallied a four-point game (2G-2A) and Kurtis Straw (2G-1A) and Todd Thomas (1G-2A) each notched three points for the Bishop McCort. Nicholas Pappa added a goal while Jonathan Onufro, Pat Formica, Matt Holtz and Seth Pakic chipped in assists.

Erik Manetta tallied a goal and two assists for Serra Catholic. Cory Beam and Jay Leppo also scored for the Eagles and Patrick LaFrankie added two assists.
