Penguins Activate Marc-Andre Fleury, Re-Assign Matt Murray to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton
by Staff Writer / Pittsburgh PenguinsThe Pittsburgh Penguins have activated goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury from injured reserve and re-assigned goaltender Matt Murray to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League, it was announced today by executive vice president and general manager Jim Rutherford.
Fleury, 31, started 25 of Pittsburgh’s first 29 games, going 13-10-2 with a .925 save percentage and a 2.29 goals-against average.
Murray, 21, played in four NHL games with Pittsburgh, going 2-1-1 with a 1.72 goals-against average and a .938 save percentage. He picked up his first NHL win against Columbus on Dec. 21.
Murray has played 17 AHL games with WBS this year, posting a 12-4 record. Murray leads the league in save percentage (.938) and shutouts (4), and places second in goals-against average (1.84).
