Defenseman Kris Letang will return for Pittsburgh's grudge match against the Bruins in Boston on Thursday at TD Banknorth Garden at 7 p.m.


Letang's return will give Pittsburgh eight healthy defensemen. Head coach Michel Therrien wouldn't say how Letang's return willl effect the lineup. Pittsburgh dressed seven defensemen on Tuesday in the first installment of the home-and-home against Boston, using rookie Alex Goligoski at both defense and forward.

Therrien said that forward Eric Godard will be a game-time decision. Goaltender

Dany Sabourin will make his first start in goal for Pittsburgh since Dec. 13 at Philadelphia.

Also, Therrien named Petr Sykora and Ryan Whitney as the Penguins' alternate captains for the month of January. The Penguins have rotated alternate captains throughout the season. Other alternates this season include Brooks Orpik and Evgeni Malkin (October), Rob Scuderi and Hal Gill (November) and Jordan Staal and Matt Cooke (December).
