Penguins owner Mario Lemieux has been named to the "Order of Canada" -- one of the country's highest civilian honors. Lemieux was one of 25 new appointees given the Officer rank.
Established in 1967, the award salutes outstanding achievement, dedication to community and service to the nation.
Lemieux was one of 57 appointments announced by Governor General Michaelle Jean. Among those also named was music legend Neil Young.
