July 11, 2012: Fan of the Day - Jillian

by Staff Writer / Pittsburgh Penguins

Jillian

How long have you been following the Pens and how did you become a fan?
I have been following the Penguins for 3 years and I got into them because my uncle kept getting me tickets to see the baby Pens. Shortly after that I started getting really into hockey and was always buying tickets but then soon my uncle got sick and I haven't seen him since then so hockey is also a way for me to remember my uncle.

Who is your favorite Penguins player (past or present)?
Brad Thiessen

Tell us about your favorite Penguins memory.
My favorite Penguins memory was when I got up to go to school the day before my birthday and I woke up and walked out of my room to find a note that said ''get a bag packed we leave at 7:30 sharp!'' and underneath it was two tickets to see the Pens play Nashville that night. After the 4 hour car ride there we got to our hotel and I got to meet Brad Thiessen and Eric Tangradi because I was staying at the same hotel as them. They are so nice and I got my picture with them and got to talk to them for a little bit. The game that night was amazing because we clenched a playoff spot and I got to meet Dan Bylsma after the game. He was so nice and I can't wait to go back to Pittsburgh.

On a game day I usually...
I wear my jersey all day and make a bowl of popcorn before the game and sit down eat my popcorn, yell at my TV, and watch the game.

Congratulations, Jillian!
