WILKES-BARRE, PA – Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins forward Dustin Jeffrey
has been named a starter for the Canadian squad at the 2010 Time Warner Cable AHL All-Star Classic, being held on January 18-19 in Portland, Maine. All-Star starters were selected through fan balloting online at www.theahl.com.
Jeffrey, 21, is in his second full season with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, and currently ranks tied for second in the AHL with 35 points (10+25) in 31 games. The native of Sarnia, Ontario is just two points shy of his total from the entire 2008-09 season.
A sixth round pick (171st overall) of the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 2007 NHL draft, Jeffrey has recorded 72 points (21+51) in 94 regular season AHL games. He made his NHL debut last season with Pittsburgh, posting three points (1+2) in 14 games.
Jeffrey is the 20th different Penguins player to be selected to an AHL All-Star Game, and the fifth different player to be named a starter:PENGUINS IN THE ALL-STAR GAME
