The Florida Panthers are known for offering unique and creative hospitality experiences to their partners and providing unprecedented access to their players.

They may have pushed the bar to their highest level yet with the creation of their latest program, “Train with the Pros”.

“Train With The Pros is another example of the unique set of benefits that come with being a marketing partner of the Florida Panthers,” said SSE president & COO Michael Yormark.

The team invited four (4) key partner decision-makers into sacred territory, the Panthers locker and training rooms, to work with the team’s trainer and key players and executives in a 2-day workout program similar to that of which the players themselves go through on a daily basis.

Team executives and sponsors did core strength conditioning, speed and agility drills, and weight lifting over a 2-hour period each day, led by Panthers trainer Andy O’Brien and players David Booth and Gregory Campbell, two of the team’s most well-conditioned athletes.

“It’s always interesting to expose people to the rigorous training regimen of a professional athlete,” O’Brien said. “I’m sure it gave them a new appreciation for the high level of physical fitness that a Florida Panthers player must maintain.”

The partners were invited into the locker room, given official team gear to wear during the workouts, and were given full access to all training room amenities during their workouts.  O’Brien designed the workout to mirror that of the team’s routine workouts to give the partners a feel for what a professional hockey player’s training needs are, focusing on core strength, balance, foot speed, and agility.

“It was an eye-opening experience to go through some of the same training techniques as an NHL player and it was great to have players like David Booth there to explain the practical implications of each exercise,” said Saveology’s Reid Shapiro. “It says a lot about how the Panthers treat their partners that a unique and exciting program such as this was available to us.”

The program was so successful from the team’s perspective that O’Brien has offered to turn the program into a monthly series, furthering the team’s diverse mix of partnership hospitality programs. Other successful programs have included “Dinner with the Panthers”, SOBE (South Beach) Dinner Series, Fontainebleau Weekends, Lounge & Bowl with the Panthers, and Boardroom Sessions and Golf Get Togethers.
