Sunrise, Fla. – Sunrise Sports & Entertainment announced today that six different Florida Panthers players made three separate community appearances yesterday in Coral Springs, Plantation and Ft. Lauderdale.

Stephen Weiss, Rostislav Olesz and Jason Garrison hosted a special holiday dinner for more than 70 underprivileged children from SOS Children’s Villages and Family Central of Broward County at the Iceplex in Coral Springs. Dinner was provided by Giovanni’s Coal Fire Pizza and the visiting children had the opportunity to take part in an open skate with the Panthers players and the Jr. Panthers travel hockey team, get autographs and pictures taken, and more.

David Booth and Shawn Matthias were on hand at Duffy’s Sports Grill in Plantation for the first of a series of Panthers Live events, an interactive question and answer session hosted by Fox Sports Florida Broadcaster Steve Goldstein.

Finally, Chris Higgins visited patients and delivered Secret Stanley Kits along with Stanley C. Panther at the Chris Evert Children’s Hospital in Fort Lauderdale.

“Yesterday was an incredible unified effort by our players and our organization to support the South Florida community during this holiday season,” said Panthers president & COO Michael Yormark. “It also left no doubt that the Florida Panthers are the most active, community-oriented professional sports team in this region.”
