With the Ducks looking to score on the power play, Tomas Vokoun gets his right pad down to stop Saku Koivu from recording the first goal of the game 7:32 into the first.
Trailing 3-1 midway through the second, Tomas Vokoun keeps the Ducks from increasing their lead as he once again uses his right pad to stop Bobby Ryan who found himself behind the Panthers defense 12:28 in.
David Booth gives the Panthers a 2-1 lead with 4:09 left to play in the second while also ending a 12-game scoreless streak in the process as he beats Jonathan Quick with from the right face-off circle.
Los Angeles defenseman Drew Doughty's shot finds it's way to the front of the net through traffic but Tomas Vokoun gets his body in front of it and then with the puck laying just outside of the crease, he uses his stick to poke check it away from danger..
Phoenix provides a lot of pressure on the Panthers defense with the puck going through the crease but Scott Clemmensen eventually comes up big, denying Scottie Upshall from the goal line with a glove save from the seat of his pants 7:58 into the first.
The Panthers are on the power play but it's Scott Clemmensen who has to make two different saves as he has to stop Lauri Korpikoski and then slide across to turn aside Eric Belanger's rebound attempt 1:54 into the third.
