SUNRISE, Fla. – Florida Panthers General Manager Dale Tallon announced today that the club has recalled D Clay Wilson and G Tyler Plante from the Rochester Americans (AHL).
Wilson, 27, has appeared in nine games with Florida this season registering three points, including two goals and one assist, and a plus-4 rating. For his career in the NHL, he has played in 25 games, with Columbus (2007-09), Atlanta (2008-09) and Florida (2009-11), recording six points (3-3-6) and four PIM. Wilson has also played in 65 games with Rochester this year, registering 46 points (10-36-46) and 24 PIM.
The Sturgeon Lake, Minn. native signed with the Panthers as a free agent on July 2, 2009.
Plante, 23, earns his second recall this season but has yet to appear in a regular season game with the Panthers. In 34 games with Rochester this season, Plante has posted a 13-16-2 record with a 3.06 goals against average and a .911 save percentage. Plante was also recognized earlier this season as the Reebok/AHL Player of the Week for the period ending Feb 27.
The Milwaukee, Wisc. native was selected by Florida with their second-round choice (32nd overall) in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.
The Panthers play their fifth and final game of a five-game road trip tonight in Columbus when they play the Blue Jackets at 7 p.m. The game can be seen live on FOX Sports Florida and heard on 560 WQAM.
