SUNRISE, Fla. – Florida Panthers General Manager Jacques Martin announced today the club has reassigned C Shawn Matthias to Rochester (AHL).

Matthias, 20, earned his third recall of the season Dec. 31 and has played in 13 games with the Panthers this season, averaging 9:22 of ice time with two assists and 10 shots. Matthias has played 24 games in Rochester this season, recording three goals and an assist.

The Panthers have picked up three of a possible four points in their last two games. The Panthers return to the BankAtlantic Center later this week for two critical games against Southeast Division rivals. They play host to Carolina on Thursday, January 8 and Atlanta on Saturday afternoon, January 10 as part of Kids Day presented by Dr. Kawa.
