Cats Host Carolina Saturday Night; Carls Holiday Spectacular Highlights Pre-Game Festivities

SUNRISE, Fla. – The Florida Panthers will try to stretch their winning streak to four games tomorrow night when they take on their division rivals the Carolina Hurricanes at 7:30 p.m. Last night, the Cats posted a 3-2 come-from-behind victory over the NY Rangers, in front of more than 17, 500 fans.

The Cats have won a season high three straight games, while outscoring their opponents 16-8 over the three game span. G Ed Belfour has a three-game winning streak in tact, while LW Rostislav Olesz has netted goals in his last three games played and LW Gary Roberts also has a three-game point scoring streak (3-2-5) in tact. The Panthers recent winning streak has been accomplished most impressively without the services of the injured RW Todd Bertuzzi, RW Juraj Kolnik, C Stephen Weiss and the recently retired C Joe Nieuwendyk.

Prior to the game, fans can enjoy a variety of interactive activities as part of the Carls Holiday Spectacular. Fans will be greeted by snow when they enter the BankAtlantic Center, children can pose for pictures with both Stanley Claus and Santa Claus and everyone is invited to participate in the countdown to light up the bowl prior to the puck drop Saturday night.

After the holiday break, the Panthers travel to Carolina to take on the Hurricanes on Dec. 26, before returning home for a pair of contests versus the Philadelphia Flyers on Wednesday, Dec. 27 and the Montreal Canadiens on Friday, Dec. 29. Great tickets for all games are still available by calling (954) 835-PUCK.
