SUNRISE, Fla. – Florida Panthers D Dmitry Kulikov
has been selected to play for the 2011 Russian National Team at the International Ice Hockey Federation World Men's Championship, that will take place from April 29 - May 15, in Kosice and Bratislava, Slovakia.
Kulikov, 20, played in 72 games with Florida this season, establishing a career high with 20 assists, while recording six goals with 45 PIM. He finished the season ranking third on the club in blocked shots (79), fourth in average ice time (19:57) and fifth in hits (107).
The Lipetsk, Russia, native played in nine games for Russia at 2010 World Championships in Germany, picking up a pair of assists while earning a Silver medal. Kulikov also spent three years playing for Team Russia at the World Junior Championship (2007-09).
Kulikov, joins Panthers teammates F Jack Skille
(Team USA) and D Clay Wilson (Team USA) who will also be competing at the World Championship, that begins tomorrow.
