Panthers and SheerBliss Ice Cream to Honor Military Personnel Sunday

by Staff Writer / Florida Panthers
Sunrise Sports & Entertainment announced today that, in partnership with SheerBliss Ice Cream, the Florida Panthers will honor military personnel during the Panthers-Ducks game on Sunday, Feb. 19 at 6 p.m. In tribute to the military, a presentation will be made to AMVETS National Commander Gary L. Fry by the SheerBliss Ice Cream team during intermission.

Fans attending Sunday’s game and the Panthers game tonight against Washington at 7:30 p.m. are encouraged to bring a new or used DVD movie to the BankAtlantic Center to support AMVETS Task Force DVD. Fans are asked to donate DVDs, which will be sent to troops overseas and veterans hospitals. Children’s movies will be distributed to military families in the U.S. through the National Guard’s Family Readiness Group(s).

Since 2006, SheerBliss Ice Cream, based in Sunrise, Fla., has been a national sponsor of AMVETS. AMVETS is the nation's largest all-inclusive, congressionally chartered, Veterans service organization. The AMVETS membership consists of active duty service men and women and all honorably discharged veterans from any of the armed force services (including Reserve and National Guard) since WWII.
