Pair of Big Games on Tap for Panthers This Week

Cats Travel to Washington Tues.; Host Dallas Thurs. & Tampa Bay on Sat.

SUNRISE, Fla. – With their 7-2 defeat of the Boston Bruins on Saturday night at the BankAtlantic Center, the Florida Panthers improved to 4-1-2 in their last seven games, earning ten out of a possible 14 points in the standings. The Panthers have averaged more 17,000 fans at their last three home contests, with upcoming home contests this week versus the Dallas Stars on Thursday, Mar. 1 and the Tampa Bay Lightning on Saturday, Mar. 3.

The line combination of C Stephen Weiss, RW Nathan Horton and LW Martin Gelinas has combined for seven goals, 10 assists and a +8 rating over the last four games, dating back to the Panthers 5-4 overtime win against Tampa Bay on Feb. 17. D Bryan Allen has a four game point scoring streak in tact (1-3-4) with a +5 rating.

General Manager and Head Coach Jacques Martin will become the 13th coach in NHL history to be behind the bench for 1,000 games when the Panthers take on the Tampa Bay Lightning on Saturday, Mar. 3. The Cats begin the week in Washington with a game against the Capitals tomorrow night at 7 p.m., before returning to South Florida for a pair of big home games.
