SUNRISE, Fla – The Florida Panthers announced today that Lauren Simone has been appointed Executive Director of the Florida Panthers Foundation. Lauren will coordinate, create and lead the foundation’s charitable efforts within the South Florida community.
“We are thrilled to have Lauren join our team,” said Florida Panthers Executive Chairman Peter Luukko. “She brings valuable insight and experience to our organization and will be a great asset as we continue to give back to our community here in South Florida.”
With over ten years of experience with mission-driven, non-profit organizations, Simone recently served as the Greater Miami- Ft. Lauderdale American Heart Association’s Director of the Broward Heart Ball. The AHA’s annual Broward Heart Ball stands as a million-dollar event each year and benefits research for heart disease, while bringing community and philanthropic leaders together for the cause.
Simone earned her Master’s Degree in Social Work at the University of Pennsylvania after completing her undergraduate degree at Providence College.
“I am honored to join the Florida Panthers Foundation in our efforts to make a positive impact in the South Florida community,” said Simone. “I look forward to planning and executing new and exciting events and initiatives as we embark on a new chapter for our foundation.”
The Florida Panthers Foundation will raise funds through various charitable events throughout South Florida and during each home game as a part of the club’s 50/50 raffle.
